Wireless Systems

qualification, software and hardware development for wireless systems, CPqD
provides critical expertise in planning, performance engineering, product
and systems conformance, deployment, simulation and optimization.
Our teams of highly skilled professionals are constantly doing research
and development in broadband Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and 3rd Generation
Cellular Systems using sophisticated planning and evaluation tools.
Conformance testing and characterization in radio communications equipment
and antennas is performed in the laboratory. And, in the field, mobile
laboratories are at work taking radio-electric measurements, like drive
tests, site surveys and protected contour.
Optical Communications
In the rapidly growing area of optical communications, CPqD
provides consulting services and tools to stimulate and evaluate the
performance of transmission systems including: WDM systems in linear and
non-linear regimen; Optical amplification systems; Digital and analogic CATV;
TDM systems operating at frequencies equal to or greater than 10Gbit/s,
affected by PMD. Performance evaluation extends to penalties resulting from
different non-linear phenomena, optical compensation of dispersion in WDM
and TDM systems, and evaluation of WDM systems with derivation/insertion of
wavelengths.
Certification, Testing and Calibration
Supported by an advanced laboratory infrastructure, CPqD
professionals are able to provide all the services required to certify new
products and calibrate telecommunications instruments using international
standards and procedures. CPqD can even help develop new standards and
procedures, when necessary.
