CPqD and Intel sign MOU to develop WiMAX technologies
(Fort Lauderdale, FL;
October 26, 2004) - CPqD and Intel announced today the signature of a MOU to
jointly develop WiMAX technologies, enabling wireless broadband applications
with speeds of up to 75Mbps. The first chip set will be available by the end
of 2005, enabling equipment manufacturers to launch WIMAX devices with the
new technologies as early as the first quarter of 2006.
As part of this
partnership with Intel, CPqD will create a WIMAX Competence Center, aiming
at developing new applications such as provisioning, device monitoring and
management, and billing capabilities for WiMAX networks.
