October 14, 2003 CPqD Introduces
Business Intelligence Solution
Enables Providers to Extract a Wealth of Information about Their
Customers from Multiple Operational and Transactional Systems
(San Jose, CA) –
CPqD Telecom & IT Solutions today announced the
availability of a new Business Intelligence (BI) solution, CPqD Business
Intelligence, which was developed in partnership with IBM Brazil to enable
providers to efficiently access and utilize information from their
operational and transactional systems.
Traditional methods of extracting
business-critical data from multiple disparate systems are time-consuming
and require handling complex spreadsheets.
By employing CPqD Business Intelligence, providers use the
‘extract, transform and load’ (ETL) process to populate data warehouses
and data marts, saving valuable time in consolidating information from
multiple operational sources. Pre-defined, customizable reports and key
performance indicators (KPIs) provide the specific performance measures to
help service providers make well-informed decisions.
The CPqD Business Intelligence solution includes a
set of dimensional models that support the construction of OnLine Analytical
Processing (OLAP) cubes, which are used to develop the industry-specific key
performance indicators that include information from products and services,
billing, collections, traffic, service orders, trouble tickets and more.
The data is then summarized in multidimensional views and hierarchies
and can be used to understand how various KPIs influence each other.
