Provides One-Step Cable Provisioning to PrairieWave Communications
Successfully Installs New CATV Provisioning Module to Improve
Efficiency and Accuracy of Back-Office Operations
(San Jose, CA) – CPqD Telecom & IT Solutions announced today that the
installation and testing of CPqD’s CATV provisioning module is complete
at PrairieWave Communications, one of the foremost
broadband telecommunications providers dedicated to small communities in the
United States.
The solution, which is designed to
interface with the company’s recently implemented billing and customer
care applications, will enable PrairieWave to activate and deactivate
subscribers’ CATV services, remotely manage subscribers’ in-home
equipment, manage thousands of Pay-Per-Movie schedules at the touch of a
button and automatically collect Pay-Per-View usage information from
subscribers.
“We decided to implement the CATV
provisioning module to complement our billing and customer care operations
so that we could immediately reduce the cost and improve the accuracy of our
CATV services,” said Craig Anderson, chairman and chief executive officer
for PrairieWave Communications. “We were manually entering approximately
2,000 Pay-Per-View movie schedules every month, which now can be directly
transferred to our operating and billing system at the touch of a
button.” “By improving the
accuracy and efficiency of their back-office operations, PrairieWave has the
ability to improve customer satisfaction as they grow their subscriber
base,” said Torsten Bojlesen, chief operating officer for CPqD Telecom
& IT Solutions. “We have
worked with PrairieWave to create a solution with the utmost flexibility,
scalability, and performance necessary to promote high-quality
customer service, fast delivery of new applications, easy implementation of
marketing programs and rapid expansion into new markets.”
In November 2002, PrairieWave selected
CPqD to provide a fully compatible and integrated system, including
customized billing, customer care, order management, outside plant
management, workforce and trouble ticket management and product provisioning
for cable television, broadband data and telephone services, specific to
PrairieWave’s needs. The individual components for this system were developed
according to an open system architecture, and its modular design provides
flexibility for integrating with other systems and scalability for sustained
support as the number of products, services, customers and transactions
increases. The contract also
includes consulting and analysis services, training and ongoing development
during the course of the project.
