Financing Options Now Available to Rural Telcos That Purchase CPqD BSS/OSS

Rural Utilities Service Makes Low-Interest Loans Available for the
Purchase of
CPqD’s BSS/OSS Software by Rural Telecommunications Providers
(San Jose, CA) – CPqD Telecom & IT Solutions announced today that
low-interest financing from the Rural Utilities Service is available to
facilitate the purchase of its business and operations support system (BSS/OSS)
solutions by rural telecommunications providers. CPqD Telecom & IT Solutions

The Rural Utilities Service (RUS), a service of the United States Department
of Agriculture (USDA), provides low-interest financing to support rural
America's telecommunications infrastructure, including the expansion of
broadband and other advanced services. Since 1995, every telephone line
constructed with RUS financing has been capable of providing broadband
service using digital subscriber line (DSL) technology. RUS has made
available $1.4 billion in loans and loan guarantees in 2003 to provide
broadband services in rural communities. These loans will facilitate
deployment of new and innovative technologies in communities with
populations up to 20,000.
“As providers consolidate their operations while adding new technologies and
services, they face a critical need for highly configurable and scalable

low-interest financing from the Rural Utilities Service will enable our
rural telecommunications provider customers to more cost-effectively expand
