CPqD USA To Provide Complete Business and Operations Support System To
Prairiewave Communications
Deal for Integrated Suite of Products and Services Will Support
PrairieWave’s
Advanced Product Provisioning and Customer Service for Customers in Three
States
(San Jose, CA/Sioux Falls, SD) – CPqD USA, the established North American
arm of CPqD, Brazil’s leading technology services provider to the
telecommunications industry, and PrairieWave Communications, one of the
foremost broadband telecommunications providers dedicated to small
communities, today announced the completion of their comprehensive agreement
for CPqD USA to supply PrairieWave with a fully integrated business and
operations support system.
CPqD USA will be providing a fully compatible and integrated system to
PrairieWave, customizing billing, customer care, order management, outside
plant management, workforce and trouble ticket management and product
provisioning for cable television, broadband data and telephone services,
specific to PrairieWave’s needs. The individual components for this system
have been developed according to an open system architecture, and its
modular design provides flexibility for integrating with other systems and
scalability for sustained support as the number of products, services,
customers and transactions increases. The contract also includes consulting
and analysis services, training and ongoing development during the course of
the project.
“We are very pleased to be working with PrairieWave to create a flexible,
scalable and advanced support system that will meet the specific needs of
their business and growing customer base,” said Torsten Bojlesen, Chief
Operating Officer for CPqD USA. “The modules that we’ll be building for
PrairieWave utilize state-of-the-art technology and, working as an
integrated solution, will maximize the performance and efficiencies that
they were designed to create. CPqD USA is focused on partnering with
companies like PrairieWave to assemble and implement the right systems for
their businesses, offering the personalized attention that is fundamental to
serving the distinctive needs of smaller communities in the United States.
CPqD USA provides a one-stop solution and a valuable choice to rural
telecommunications providers throughout North America.”
“We wanted a partner in this project, not just a provider, and that’s what
we have with CPqD USA,” said Craig A. Anderson, PrairieWave’s Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer. “CPqD USA’s solution is designed with the
flexibility, scalability, and performance that we were looking for to
promote high quality customer service, fast delivery of new applications,
easy implementation of marketing programs and rapid expansion into new
markets. CPqD USA has the expertise, commercial and technical flexibility
and sophisticated product line that fit our needs the best.”
“Telecommunications is now a global industry,” stated Eugene McCord,
PrairieWave’s Chief Information Officer and manager for the CPqD USA
project. “We surveyed the best billing and operating support system
suppliers throughout the industry, and CPqD USA is simply our preferred
choice to meet our unique needs. They are a tremendous organization, and we
look forward to working with their team as we complete the project.”
The project is slated to begin November 19th, with analytical, developmental
and business performance deliverables scheduled over the next several
months. Full implementation is scheduled for July 2003.
Financial details surrounding the agreement were not disclosed.
PrairieWave selected CPqD USA from a field of over 50 providers, and will be
replacing its current in-house proprietary system with CPqD USA products and
services.
