CPqD Manager Elected President of GITA Brazil
(Campinas, Brazil; June 7th, 2002) – Geovane Cayres Magalhães, CPqD's
Outside Plant Systems manager, has been elected president of the recently
created Brazilian branch of the
Geospatial Information
Technology Association (GITA), already with 31 affiliated members.
GITA is devoted to promoting worldwide dissemination of geographic
information. Headquartered in the United States, GITA is also present in
Japan, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, Peru, South Africa, India, Colombia,
Argentina and Brazil.
"Our main goal is to take the relationship among companies and professionals
of the geospatial information arena to a new level, taking a more active
role in terms of cooperation and knowledge sharing in the area," says
Geovane.
Geovane has been with CPqD for over 15 years, playing an active role in the
